A Rising Generation of Women

Sister Beck commended the sisters in attendance for their desire to do the Lord’s will.
“We depend on you, the rising generation of women, to breathe new life into Relief Society … that it will be the shining light of the future, working side by side with brethren who hold the priesthood to help build the kingdom of God and prepare the Earth for His coming,” she said.
Sister Beck testified that as those involved in the work of Relief Society keep the Lord’s purposes in their heads and in their hearts and fulfill His purposes here on Earth, they would be blessed, strengthened, cleansed, and healed.
“We have an organization established by the Lord to bless His daughters,” she said. “The Lord knows who you are because it is His work. He will strengthen and magnify you.”

French Toast and Buttermilk Syrup

Prepare French Toast as desired top with fresh fruit such as strawberries or blueberries and pour buttermilk syrup over top.  It is divine!

Buttermilk Syrup:
½ cup buttermilk
1 cup sugar
1 cube real butter
1 tsp light corn syrup
Bring to boil in a saucepan.  Remove from head and add:
½ tsp vanilla
½ tsp baking soda
Stir with a wire whip and be careful as it really foams up!-about triple the size.

(I use powdered buttermilk that I keep on hand and mix up a 1/2 cup at a time.  There are quite a few places you can get this from - I ordered mine from the prepared pantry -  Of course you can use regular buttermilk from the store.

Breakfast Casserole

½ lb cooked bacon, ham, or breakfast sausage(or any combination of the 3)
chopped veggies (optional. We like to use broccoli & tomatoes. You can also do red peppers and onion if you want even more flavor)
12 eggs
1 c. milk
1 pkg. (1 b.) frozen shredded hash browns
1 c. cheddar cheese (shredded)
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp pepper

In a bowl, beat eggs and milk. Stir in all other ingredients. Put in greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 45-55 min or until well set. Serve topped with salsa.

Sticky Fingers

10-12 Breaded Chicken Fingers - Baked according to directions.
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
6 Tbl Franks Hot Sauce (original or hot)
4 Tbl water
Bring to boil and cook for a few minutes.  Set aside and then drench cooked, breaded chicken fingers in sauce and serve.  Dipping in Ranch makes them even more delectable.
