June Newsletter

Newsletter June 2012

Dear Sisters
Spring is a busy time of year for all of us. We are grateful that many of you found time to attend the Stake Relief Society Conference in April. We have finally uploaded handouts and a couple of videos to the blog – so check them out. One of the videos went missing and so we were unable to upload the class on “Holiness of Heart” – if anyone has seen a small DV Tape black and red, let us know. I did have to break the videos down into 3 parts in order to upload them. They can only be viewed by clicking on the link from our blog. So enjoy. We want to thank all those who participated by teaching classes, crafts, or providing food. Thank you for your help!
We hope that you are taking the time to implement some of the thoughts that inspired you at Women’s Conference, Stake Conference and General Conference. We have had a spiritual feast over the last several months. Elder Gardner’s counsel to attend our meetings or the temple with questions; was very poignant for me and I hope I can change my habits to make myself sensitive to the spirit. He encouraged us to be in tune with the spirit so our questions can be answered and then bend ourselves to the Lord’s will and ACT! He said if we don’t change anything we might as well have stayed home in bed. It gives new perspective to how we should prepare ourselves for sacrament meeting, the temple, or any other meetings we attend where the spirit is present.
We are grateful for our new Stake Presidency and look forward to hearing more of their counsel. We all have challenges, but life is good. Reach out and share your love with other sisters. There are many out there who are in need of our help. We love you and pray for your happiness and growth in the gospel. Have a great summer!

Meet Caroline Perez of the Ely 3rd Ward

My name is Caroline Perez, I was born and raised in Northern California near the Bay Area. I am first generation Peruvian American and LDS. I have one older brother and one younger brother and they are both completely different but they both love to joke around with me, I am the only girl in my family and instead of being spoiled I feel like I have a great connection with my brothers, it wasn’t until my niece was born that our home was filled with even more happiness. During my high school years my mom became my best friend. I would tell her everything. She inspires me so much to be a good mom. My parents got divorced when I was young but we still got to spend time with our dad. He is where we get our sense of humor and our voice when we need to speak up about something. In middle school I got into acting and in high school I was involved in plays and choir. I love to act and want to get back into singing again. I absolutely love to dance, especially to Spanish music. For college, I went to SUU for reasons I did not know until I met my husband there. Six months later we were happily married in the Oakland Temple in 2010. I recently received my associates and plan to do more schooling to learn about videography or anything else that catches my interest. We recently moved to Ely after the birth of our 4 month old son, Nikolas. He is the best thing that has happened to us and we are enjoying every minute of his new life. I like learning new things and am very interesting in making cakes right now. I come off shy but I’m nice and like to make people laugh.

Meet Rebecca Wheable of the Ely 3rd Ward

She moved to Ely when Michael graduated law school and accepted a judicial clerkship position last August. They were blessed when he was hired full time as a district attorney. Rebecca teaches piano and keeps busy at home with the three little ones. She is also an interior designer. She loves to craft, read, do house projects, and take family outings and trips.
